The County Seat of Forsyth County, Cumming is located about 40 miles north of the city of Atlanta and was founded in 1833, just one year after Forsyth County was created.  Early on, the city benefited from the gold mining industry pushing businesses to be created to meet the needs of the gold miners. As the city experiences continued growth the city of Cumming bears little resemblance to the small rural town it was just mere decades ago.
 
While just a short drive from the city of Atlanta, you will find a more rural feel in Cumming with homesites offering you more acreage giving you the ability to escape the typical neighborhood feel. The recent addition to downtown was the Cumming City Center. The new development features an outdoor amphitheater, hosting concerts and seasonal events. City Center has, a downtown shopping vibe with local boutiques such as Avenue of the Oaks, Lily Rose Luxury Candles & Soaps, and Pieces & Peaches. While visiting City Center be sure to check out some of the hot new restaurants that include, Homestead Kitchen, Slice Ability, The Well and Tin Cup Grill, you are sure to find something that appeals to everyone in your family.
